Yoga

Yoga

We live in a very fast world, without breath we run to catch up. We don't find time for physical balance or relaxation. That's why we often feel exhausted. Our body muscles are inadequately trained - we are physically and mentally constantly tense.

Any tension, whether physical or mental, is a waste of energy that can have serious consequences. If we waste our energy reserves eventually run out and we get sick. Yoga is the right medium to dissolve tensions of any kind and replenish our reserves. With Yoga you become physically and mentally mobile, you feel balanced and refreshed. Among the different types of Yoga, Hatha Yoga is the one most often followed in the Western world (Europe, America).

What is Yoga and what we can learn by doing Yoga Hatha Yoga consists of three different important elements that we bring together in our practice.

1. BREATHING

Yoga deals with breathing and looks at the whole function of inhalation and exhalation and how our health is affected by proper (or not) breathing function. It is a self-evident fact that no one can live more than a few minutes without the oxygen in the air they breathe in. And yet very few people today are concerned with how exactly we breathe, what exactly happens during inhalation and exhalation, how the famous "exchange" of gases (the uptake of oxygen and the expulsion of carbon dioxide) takes place, etc. Many diseases that are nowadays found in more and more people have their roots or are affected to a small or large extent by breathing. Breathing plays the role of a connecting link between the human body and the human brain, a link which modern medicine often seems to ignore, considering the whole process of breathing as a simple mechanical process of inflow and outflow of air from the respiratory system and a simple exchange of gases in the alveoli. We will learn to become aware of our breathing. What is breathing? Are we breathing correctly? By doing basic breathing exercises, we see how the breath circulates within us and see how we can breathe more deeply, quietly and smoothly.

2. YOGA POSES

At the centre of the Yoga practice are the physical exercises or postures. Always starting with the "sun salutation" sequence which is the preparation and warm-up for the Yoga postures, we have a good little base for more mobility of our body. Yoga postures after bending, stretching and strengthening the muscles and joints can lay mines in the foundation of one's health. This fitness measure is ideal for mobilizing the body and ensuring good health. We will know the basic Yoga poses.

3. CONCENTRATION

Concentration is the ability to engage our body, emotions and mind simultaneously in an exercise. This leads to greater personality harmony during our practice. When we concentrate on something with our whole soul we also feel more balanced and content. Always at the end we relax for ten minutes doing relaxation exercises which we can also do at home on our own.

What exactly are the benefits of Yoga?

1. Improvement of the Musculoskeletal system

2. Metabolic systems: respiratory, digestion and excretion, blood circulation - heart, nervous system - glands - hormones

I can tell you that Yoga is not only a theory but a life science. If you have never eaten honey, I can talk to you at great length about how good it tastes - but you won't know unless you try it. Practice Yoga and you will discover its benefits.

There are many ways and paths to yoga. Physical exercise is in no way yoga. But it is a starting point for every further step. Here you will learn what happens in a comprehensive yoga class and why.

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self (Bhagavad Gita)

The key to change lies within you (Gandhi)
